Joe Dunne

Consent

(Education to tackle sexual harm)

With over 8 years of experience delivering consent and sexual violence lecturers to students, Joe is well-versed in handling this deeply sensitive subject matter. Having already worked with over a thousand students, the tone of Joe’s content carefully treads the line of being engaging and inclusive but unapologetic.

The core content of the lecture covers a wider range of topics within the subject matter but broadly touches on consent and the law, slut and prude shaming, rape culture, toxic masculinity and creating a more positive manhood. However, the content always aims to be as relatable as possible for students and that’s why Joe updates his lecturers regularly to discuss the most relevant case studies available.

Joe’s lecture aims to be genuinely interactive, offering students a safe-space to vocalise their views and experience in a considered environment anonymously or otherwise. He is experienced at facilitating debates between students on sensitive subjects such as these while encouraging contributions. The lecture Joe provides is also visually engaging, utilising a range of media and tools to earn the interest of students.

What defines this lecture is the offer of a unique perspective to students, providing a more positive vision for what masculinity can be while being unapologetic about the scale of the issues we’re hoping to address.

‘His manner ensures the pupils are willing to engage and ask questions without feeling embarrassed or insecure. I think this session is a must-have for all school pupils before they make the step into university and the wider world’ – Matt Archer, Head of Sixth Form at Wycliffe College, Gloucestershire.

Joe works in communications for the NHS. If you have any questions about the content, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
